Album TBPI 4 | COMIC BOOK: text, biographies / critical textsI am the author of all 35 biographies / critical texts in the TBPI 4 | COMIC BOOK. Something like that has never happened before! It is the first album with the works of the best Polish comic book cartoonists who influenced the image of Polish comics in the world and what is becoming known as the Polish school of comics.
Artists whose names and works are presented in The Best Polish Illustrators | COMIC BOOK were chosen almost three years ago because it took so long to work on the publication, but finally, the album is now available for sale. It is 312 pages, 251 works by 35 comic book authors; each has 8 pages of biography and portfolio, all in a gilded case and an elegant hardcover. The Best Polish Illustrators | COMIC BOOK is a review of illustrations in Polish realistic, satirical, committed, romantic, horror, and fantasy comics. More information you can find in my text on the page where you can order the album, and even more about the history of the latest Polish comic, I write in one of the texts in the album. Since I deal with all areas of visual arts, this is another time when the {slow} Foundation invited me to cooperate. In the previous album TBPI 2 | CONCEPT ART, I wrote about the history of concept art, the history of the concept itself, and the concept artist's workshop.

Some opinions about me of workshop participants:"Kamila surprised us positively with her colorful personality, which ideally transferred to a way of providing information and good contact with each participant. Her lecture was the quintessence of practical knowledge needed to exist in the world of art. Besides theoretical knowledge, which is the basis of every action, we got from her practical tips answering key questions: how - where - and when, and also tips on self-promotion. Kamila knows how to indicate made mistakes critically, but she does it in such a way that her words become a drive for further action and education. She is a motivating lecturer, with enormous knowledge, and also or perhaps above all, with practical knowledge, open to the world and people, breaking the artificiality barrier at the first meeting. We would wish for more such people in the lecturers' environment, at universities, courses and trainings." *** "Training is really a trainer, and his/her preparation and attitude determine the quality of the training. Kamila is the proverbial 'Petard' - volcano of energy and an empathic person. In a brilliant, engaging way, she gave me knowledge based on her experience and practice. Very well-prepared training in terms of content, time maximally used. What I liked the most was her individual approach to each participant - lots of useful clues and words of criticism that only motivate to action - a revelation for me. Kamila, you were born to train. I always emphasize the role of honesty and authenticity as a key condition in engaging followers in social media. Although on the other hand, in the world where Lil Miquela and the model Shudu have 1,5 million and 150, 000 followers and as digital avatars, totally fictional characters, they promote Dior or Diesel, above issues do not seem to matter.
![]() On 2nd October, in open a few days earlier Praga Koneser Centre, as part of “London Outsider” vernissage, the exhibition of London photography, I had the pleasure of chairing a short meeting with its author, Bartosz Maciejewski. During the vernissage, we talked about his style, characteristic of him combining photography with painting and his passion for big-city as the main theme of his photography. I shared also my observations that Maciejewski in his works sometimes approaches to metaphysical art, close to "Melancholy and Mystery of a Street" by Giorgio de Chirico or to the aesthetics of the painter of a street - Marek Włodarski and I am referring, for example, to the painting “Composition with two cyclists”. More about art at my blog Wernisażeria, the first lifestyle blog about art & vernissages, becuase culture and art are the way of life, not fashion. I write extensive feuilletons about vernissages: subjective, substantive, full of surprising digressions and specific humor texts on exhibitions, art, culture, history and literature.
