Friday, August 7, 18:00, Academia Days, lecture: Narrative in Comics. Transmediality and Storytelling, or How Did Scheherazade Know To Tell a Stories

I would like to invite everyone to my Friday lecture on constructing narrative in comics and expanding the story world ​.
We will look into the creation of transmedia stories (comics, films, games, etc.) connected via threads, motives, characters or locations.
The list of topics:

• What is the significance of using the ‘cultural reservoir’ (e.g. myths, patterns, stereotypes) as the carrier of narrative?
• How does the comics infect with narrativity, or how can the plot generate new story worlds?
• How to create stories within one story world?
• How is it possible to move between various story worlds in which every element of one narrative is at the same time a part of a larger whole – the Fables universe?
